Snoring can be treated by:

  • Several different types of surgery to reduce the tissue in the nasal or throat areas.
  • Oral appliances are very successful in treating snoring by holding the lower jaw and the tongue forward thus opening the airway.
  • Oral appliances are now relatively compact and are now adjustable to get the best results.

Mild Sleep Apnea is best treated with oral appliances.

Moderate to Severe Sleep Apnea can be treated with Nasal CPAP.  This is the Gold Standard of care.  Especially severe sleep apnea is best treated with the CPAP machine.  However, if the patient cannot tolerate the CPAP machine, oral appliances offer the next best alternative.
